Marcy Blesy

Marcy Blesy graduated valedictorian from Fisher High School in 1990. Marcy graduated from Millikin University with a BS in elementary education in 1994 and from Northern Illinois University with a MS in educational administration in 1999. She taught fifth grade for three years at Harristown Elementary School and fourth grade for four years at Lynn G. Haskin Elementary School in Sandwich, Illinois.
Marcy then stepped away from her career for a decade to be a full time stay-at-home mom to her two sons, Connor and Luke. It was during the end of this time that her lifetime dream of writing started rising to the surface of her mind. In 2012, Marcy’s first picture book was published by Bronze Man Books, Am I Like My Daddy? The story follows seven-year-old Grace on her journey through coping with the loss of her father while learning about the different ways that people grieve the loss of a loved one. In the process of learning about who her father was through the eyes of others, she learns about who she is today because of her father’s personality and love. The book grew out of Marcy’s early loss of her own dad when she was an eighth grader at Fisher Jr. High.
Marcy has since written and published over ten books including a children’s book, Be the Vet, written with her veterinarian husband, Dr. Ed Blesy, and the young adult romance series To Know Me and Finding Reese (The Tremont Lodge Series). She also has essays published in two Chicken Soup for the Soul books. Marcy runs the elementary school library at Bridgman Elementary School in Bridgman, Michigan, a little town along the shore of Lake Michigan where she lives with her family. The beach is her favorite source of inspiration and relaxation.
