Dr. Greg Fiets

Dr. Fiets is a 1978 graduate of Fisher High School and is the son of Rick and Shirley Fiets of Fisher, Illinois. After graduation, Greg attended the University of Illinois where he earned his MD in 1987. He completed postdoctoral training in internal medicine from 1987-1988 and at the University of Virginia in Radiation Oncology from 1989-1993. Following his training, Greg has served as a staff physician at the University of Southern California (1988-89), as a Radiation Oncologist at the InterCommunity Cancer Center in Rome, Georgia (1993-95) and SIU Cancer Care Centers in Carbondale, Illinois (1995-2006). Currently, he is an assistant Professor in the Department of Oncology at Wake Forest University School of Medicine and the Medical Director at the Regional Cancer Center at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital in Elkin, North Carolina. He is also Diplomat of the National Board of Medical Examiners, board certified in Radiation Oncology by the American Board of Radiology and a licensed physician and surgeon in North Carolina.
