Charlie is a 1933 graduate of Fisher High School. Charlie was a WWII veteran who served with General Patton at the Battle of the Bulge and liberated concentration camps in Dachau, Germany. He began his teaching experience in 1941 At Kempton High School. Following his experiences in WWII, he taught from 1946-1975 at Saunemin and Gibson City High Schools. He continued his work in the educational field by working for CETA (government work training program) and substituting in the Gibson City Schools until the age of 88. He also served as the Mayor of Gibson City from 1966-1970.
